( 12 days from $3090)

New Aqua-Firma Socorro Giant Manta Ray diving experience & Franco Banfi Photo Story in the Daily Mail.

May 25, 2010 -

Since the company’s inception, Aqua-Firma has placed a special focus on diving in the Eastern Pacific, combining some of the world’s best encounters with pelagic marine life with equally inspiring travel experiences on land. In addition to our established locations of the Galapagos, Cocos, Malpelo and Coiba, we are now offering boat biased diving expeditions to Socorro and the Revillagigedo Archipelago 240 miles off the southern tip of Baja California, Mexico.

Diving at Socorro and San Benedicto provides what is probably the world’s best opportunity to interact with Giant Manta Rays (Manta Birostris) known to reach as much as 6.7 metres from wing tip to wing tip. An encounter with these graceful creatures is truly unforgettable. These islands are also an excellent location for seeing other large pelagic species such as hammerhead sharks, yellow fin tuna, humpback whales and pods of playful bottlenose dolphins.

Yesterday’s article in the UK newspaper, Daily Mail, featured some stunning photographs taken by one of the World’s leading underwater and above water photographers, Franco Banfi. Franco has been a guide on Aqua-Firma expeditions in the past to the Arctic. Click Here to see the article.

Aqua-Firma is committed to protecting both marine and terrestrial habitats you visit by supporting NGO’s such as the Galapagos Conservation Trust, and where possible working with local communities to benefit their local environment and economies.
